Restylane/Perlane

As we age, our lips lose the youthful fullness they once had. You can restore the fullness to your lips as well as reduce moderate to severe wrinkles and folds in your face with Restylane/Perlane injections. It is a clear injectable gel made of Hyaluronic Acid, a compound which occurs naturally in the human body. It works to restore the volume and fullness as well as reduce the visible folds and lines, particularly around the nose and mouth. While Restylane/Perlane has been approved to folds and wrinkles, it is also commonly used to restore fullness to the cheeks and temples as well as treat under eye hollowness, too.

Restylane/Perlane was the very first Hyaluronic Acid injectable to be approved by the FDA and it is a very safe alternative to surgery for those who are wanting a rejuvenating look. Often times, patients choose to get Restylane/Perlane injections, along with Botox or Dysport. Restylane/Perlane works with the Botox or Dysport to naturally lift and reshape an aging face without the expense or downtime of surgery.

Patients may receive these injections as early as their 20’s- usually for increase in lip volume. Restylane/Perlane patients can be as old as in their 80’s- for the treatment of lipstick wrinkles and lines. Generally, however, most Restylane/Perlane patients are between the ages of 30-60 and are looking to restore the youthful volume to their face that has been naturally lost with age.

Generally speaking, Restylane/Perlane results usually last between 6-12 months, although this time varies depending on how much is injected, as well as which part of the face it is being used to treat. The least mobile areas of the face will see longer results (underneath the eyes) while the most mobile parts will usually see shorter results. Restylane/Perlane is a safe product with very few side effects. Most patients only encounter slight discomfort during injection and have very minimal bruising or swelling.
