Latisse

We all long for long thick eyelashes. We scour the makeup aisles in hopes to find that mascara that will give us the sexiest lashes. Latisse is a prescription FDA-approved treatment to help your lashes grow longer, fuller, and darker. As we age, we lose lashes similar to the way our hair begins to thin. Using this treatment daily can give you the volume, length, and pigment that will make your eyes pop and help restore a youthful look to your overall appearance. Sometimes, individuals feel that with Latisse they no longer need mascara for everyday.

What is Latisse? Originally indicated for the treatment of glaucoma, Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03% was seen to cause lashes to grow longer and fuller. As a result, Allergan began to market it as a topical treatment for thinning eye lashes.

How do I use Latisse? Latisse comes in a bottle accompanied with disposal brushes. The product is applied daily before bed to the base of the lashes. Eventually, after several months you will be able to drop down to applying 2-3 times per week.

Things to know about Latisse: The results are not permanent. Once you stop using Latisse, your lashes will lose the volume, length, and darkness that resulted from frequent use.

Not all individuals will gain thickness, length, and darkness, although most patients do report positive results with at least one of these. Some itching and redness has been reported in less than 5% of users and darkening of the eyelid is a uncommon side effect (this goes away when Latisse is discontinued). Additionally, if you are using prescription medicines for your eyes, you should consult with your doctor before trying Latisse
